[Podcast] Origin Stories: How Some of Rocket's Developers Got Started

Generally speaking there’s a pretty clear path to most careers.

Dentists go to dental school.

Lawyers go to law school.

Doctors go to medical school.

And even though there is such a thing as a computer science major (some might call it software school) the path to becoming a software developer is less direct than most people assume.

Google the phrase “how to become a developer,” for instance, and you’ll get a return of 916 million articles, YouTube tutorials, collegiate programs, and ads for 12 week bootcamps that’ll teach you just that. It goes to show: anyone can become a developer in any number of ways.

That’s why we’re taking the time to bring you Origin Stories, a brand-new series by Ship It, Rocket’s podcast.

Origin Stories are the real-world tales of some of our most experienced devs. Where they started out, how they got to where they are, and what advice they have for the next generation.
